Youth Showmanship Academy
Responsible dog ownership starts at any age
…And so do the rewards!
Starting April 9, 2022, Kai’s Dog Training Academy will be hosting our very own Youth Showmanship Academy! This will be a program designed for youth in grades 3-12. Our experienced staff will work with students to learn the knowledge and skills to show at the appropriate level. This is ideal for those who are interested in competing in 4-H or AKC Junior Showmanship events. Students will learn:
How to appear show-ready
How to have their dog appear show-ready
How to show in group environments
How to show as an individual
How to address general care of the dog
…and more!
Students will participate in classes designed for their competition level featuring academic and fundamental training aspects. Students will also have the opportunity to ask staff questions to improve training at home.
As an added perk, families with a student-dog team registered for the Youth Showmanship Academy will receive a discount towards regular obedience training for the same dog at Kai’s!
At the conclusion of the Youth Showmanship Academy, students will have a chance to participate in a mock show held at Kai’s!
Space will be limited. Families should complete an application online. Families will be notified with more information about classes and how to prepare for the first one!
